Monthly Membership Meetings - Each month NAPM-Austin holds a Membership Meeting and dinner, which includes a Pre-Dinner Speaker as well as an After Dinner Speaker addressing a wide range of topics of interest to Purchasing and Supply Chain Professionals. Dinner is included at a very reasonable cost. A Pre-Dinner Social Hours also allows you to meet and talk with other Supply Chain Professionals in the Greater Austin area.

International Discussion Group - a Quarterly Lunch Meeting is held with a featured speaker addressing issues of importance to those with an interest in doing business Internationally.

Dollar$ and $en$e - a monthly newsletter of upcoming events and available educational programs delivered electronically to you each month. Stay abreast of what is happening within your local Association.

Satellite Seminars (free to members, $25 for non members) - Members can attend 4 to 6 Satellite Seminars per year addressing a wide range of topics pertinent to today's Supply Chain Professional. Gain up-to-date knowledge to boost your effectiveness, and help advance your career.

Live Seminars - NAPM-Austin presents live, face-to-face seminars periodically during the year at very cost effective rates for our members. We co-sponsor seminars with nationally recognized training companies, and are always striving to present the highest quality education at the lowest possible cost.

C.P.M. and A.P.P. Study Groups - Study Groups are formed thought out the year to help members study for the C.P.M. Test. These are free to NAPM-Austin members.

C.P.M. and A.P.P. Review Classes - C.P.M. Review Classes are scheduled at appropriate times during the year to assist those preparing to take the C.P.M. Tests.

Job Placement Assistance - A Job Placement Data bank is maintained by NAPM-Austin, and the Job Coordinator assists those seeking employment to find job opportunities as well as assisting companies searching for qualified candidates for employment.

Community - Gain valuable contacts within your community during monthly meetings and educational functions. Keep on top of local industry changes and commodity trends. Be a part of a growing association run by and for Purchasing and Supply Chain professionals. Network with fellow Material Managers who are growing and learning while providing education and opportunities within our local area.

Plant Tours - We schedule several plant tours per year. This allows you to have a "behind the scenes" look at some of the most vibrant and innovative facilities in the Austin Area.

Support of Your Profession By participation in the various events of NAPM-Austin, you will be in contact with some of the best and brightest members of the Greater Austin Purchasing and Supply Chain Management Community. You will be investing in your profession by giving back to the community through the many educational and social opportunities. We also sponsor an annual fund raising event in order to provide Scholarships for Local High School Students who are heading to College.

C.P.M. and A.P.P. Programs - ISM offers two professional designations. The Accredited Purchasing Practitioner (A.P.P.) program is for entry-level buyers primarily engaged in the tactical or operational side of purchasing/materials management. It is also available to those outside of an organization's purchasing/materials management department with definite procurement (supply chain management) responsibilities. The Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) program focuses on the managerial, administrative, and strategic, as well as tactical aspects of the purchasing and materials management function. Both programs are designed for those working in any of the major private, public, or non-profit work sectors. Both programs are administered by ISM and members receive discounts on exams and study materials.

Committees - Acquire new skills in planning, managing, and organizing while developing your leadership potential. Some committee members report on economic conditions (the primary statistics become the highly-respected Report on Business), direct ISM's annual conference, assist in program development, and much more. Only ISM members can participate.

Special Interest Groups and Forums - Gain a deeper understanding of your purchasing specialty and develop valuable connections across the U.S. when you join an ISM special interest group or forum. ISM has groups in interest areas ranging from materials management to health care providers, to federal acquisitions. Only through ISM can you participate in the ISM special interest groups or forums.

Seminar Discounts - Enhance your professional development and job performance when you enroll in ISM seminars taught by experienced instructors. Over 90 seminars are conducted annually throughout the United States; intensive, one-week purchasing management programs are also conducted at selected universities. Members save up to $200 on each two-day seminar and $400 on each management program. Our satellite seminar series addresses different purchasing/supply management issues and is offered several times throughout the year. Annual International Supply Management Conference and Educational Exhibit - Network with 2000 peers at the only international conference devoted exclusively to purchasing and supply management. Examine emerging trends and challenges during comprehensive workshops conducted by your peers. Workshop presenters are selected as a result of ISM's "Call for Presentations."
