A number of volunteer positions exist at NAPM-Austin that allow our organization grow and effectively serve our members. We encourage your participation and involvement to help NAPM-Austin succeed. Contact the NAPM-Austin president for more information on any of these positions.
These descriptions of positions and responsibilities, and the organization's structure are considered guidelines to assist in the successful operation of the affiliate and to promote consistent communication for the purpose of recruitment of board members. These positions and descriptions pertain to the Austin NAPM affiliate only as they are currently identified in the existing organization.
President
The President is the overall head of organization, responsible for leading the affiliate to maintain all financial, operational, educational and community duties as directed by the board of directors and the members of the Austin NAPM affiliate. This position is responsible for the monitoring and recommending to the board of directors, appropriate short and long term changes to correct or redirect persons, projects and goals when areas are not in accord with the best interest of the affiliate. The President is responsible for scheduling and conducting board meetings in timely and efficient manner. The President will also represent the Austin NAPM affiliate in all community and other areas as spoke person.
Director of National Affairs
The Director of National Affairs will represent the NAPM Austin affiliate at regional, sectional and national affairs as directed by the President. The director will communicate to the board information pertinent to the affiliate on a monthly or as need basis. Under the direction of the President and the Board of Directors, the Director of National Affairs communicates the position of the NAPM Austin affiliate and cast votes in appropriate legislature and organizational meetings.
First Vice President
Primary support to the President, is the President elect, is back up to the President in all areas President is responsible. Completes and carries President duties in the President's absence as well as special assignments given by the President. Responsible for the assistance and over sight of Board of Directors in the carrying out of business duties and assignments. Recommends to the President, appropriate short and long term changes to correct or redirect persons, projects and goals when areas are not in accord with the best interest of the affiliate.
Second Vice President
Secondary support to the President, is the First Vice President elect, is second back up to the President in all areas President and First Vice President is responsible. Responsible for the assistance and over sight of Board of Directors in the carrying out of business duties and assignments. Recommends to the President, appropriate short and long term changes to correct or redirect persons, projects and goals when areas are not in accord with the best interest of the affiliate.
Directors at Large (2)
Responsible for carrying out special assignments as assigned by the President on an as needed basis. May be asked to fill temporary vacancies until such time the position is filled or deemed additional assistance is no longer warranted.
Director of Volunteer Management
Responsible for the search and submission of temporary and long-term personnel to carry out permanent or short-term duties as required of the affiliate. Assignments are both directed from the board consensus are well as directed by the Board of Directors and President. Will actively develop the criteria of personnel required in conjunction with the area Director, Chair or special team to provide successful search and fit of person to match duties being requested. Director of Volunteer is considered a permanent member of all teams and areas as support.
Director of Marketing
Overall head of the Marketing organization, responsible for leading the Marketing areas to maintain all financial, operational, educational and tasks to accomplish established goals for the year as approved by the Board of Directors. Responsible for the monitoring and recommending to the board of directors, appropriate short and long term changes to correct or redirect persons, projects and goals when areas are not in accord with the best interest of the affiliate.

Membership Chair
The membership chair will maintain the information database of all active members of the affiliate. The chair will process new member applications and bring to the board for admission approval vote at least once per month. The chair will also remove those member records that no longer qualify to be member of the NAPM Austin affiliate. Communication of membership levels will be handled on as required basis and identification of suggested enrollment programs. The membership chair will provide information as a function of data mining to all board members for the exclusive purpose to carryout defined task.

Public Relations Chair
The Public Relations chair is responsible for the public advertisement of all information in appropriate medias.

Newsletter Editor
The newsletter editor is responsible to coordinating all information to be entered in the monthly newsletter. This position will ensure the data is attained in a timely manner to meet distribution deadlines. The newsletter editor will audit, correct and under the approval of the submitting head, make necessary changes to information to maintain accuracy and meet distribution deadlines.

Technology Chair
The technology chair is responsible for maintaining the affiliate web site. This includes seeing that the information is accurate and current.
Director of Administration
Overall head of the Administration organization, responsible for leading the Administration areas to maintain all financial, operational, educational and tasks to accomplish established goals for the year as approved by the Board of Directors. Responsible for the monitoring and recommending to the board of directors, appropriate short and long term changes to correct or redirect persons, projects and goals when areas are not in accord with the best interest of the affiliate.

Treasurer
The treasurer is responsible for maintaining the financial records in accordance with the standard business and accounting rules as governed by the Internal Revenue Service and the State of Texas for not for profit organizations. The treasurer will also execute this duty consistently, documenting and reporting at least monthly to the board the statement of record of all financial balances and the transactions completed in each accounting period. The treasurer will also file the annual Federal Income Tax in the required and described dates.

Job Placement Coordinator
Job Placement coordinator will execute this task by providing to members information relative to employment opportunities. This position also maintains a secured and confidential record of resumes of submitted members as received from same members for the explicit purpose of distributing to prospective employers or search firms when the member gives permission. The job placement coordinator will communicate in an open forum or media employment opportunities as so directed by the employer or search firm.

Secretary
Secretary is responsible for the documentation of meeting minutes of the board meeting as well as other official gathering of officers or board members. The secretary will also distribute these minutes to the board members and make necessary adjustments and secure approval. The secretary will maintain the minutes for the last 5 years and provide these minutes to appropriate personnel as requested.

Report on Business Co-Chairs
The co-chairs in this position of consist of two distinct and separate duties. The duties of the survey data analyst are to distribute the monthly report on business survey to all qualified participants in a timely manner. The analyst will summarize the results and submit to the second co-chair, the economist. The economist will implement to newest survey information into the data bank and write the monthly Report on Business.
Director of Education
Overall head of the Education organization, responsible for leading the Education areas to maintain all financial, operational, educational and tasks to accomplish established goals for the year as approved by the Board of Directors. Responsible for the monitoring and recommending to the board of directors, appropriate short and long term changes to correct or redirect persons, projects and goals when areas are not in accord with the best interest of the affiliate.

Professional Development Chair
The ProD chair is responsible for planning educational seminars (satellite, classroom and workshop). This chair also handles announcements, registration and securing facilities for each educational event.

Program Chair
The Program chair is responsible for locating, selecting and facilitate the speaker for the monthly dinner meeting. Coordination of speaker's hotel and transportation is necessary, visual aids and other related items to support the speakers required material for the presentation.

International Chair
The International chair will plan, organize and carryout the international topical meeting. Meetings will be held quarterly on specific dates and locations unless the board decides to integrate the International meeting at the regular monthly meeting. Duties include selecting the speaker, topic, the location for the meeting and communicating the meeting.
Director of Special Events
Overall head of the Special Events organization, responsible for leading the Special Events areas to maintain all financial, operational, educational and tasks to accomplish established goals for the year as approved by the Board of Directors. Responsible for the monitoring and recommending to the board of directors, appropriate short and long term changes to correct or redirect persons, projects and goals when areas are not in accord with the best interest of the affiliate.

Spring Fling Chair
Chairs and overall leads the planning, staffing and execution of the annual fund raising Supplier and Buyer networking event.

Golf Tournament Chair
Chairs and overall leads the planning, staffing and execution of the annual fund raising Scholarship Fund.
